Following in Volkswagens motto, Bilbo’s conversions are designed to be used every day and more importantly, to be practical. Bilbo’s conversions are fitted with strong but light weight furniture which is sauced from Europe, allowing for additional weight to be loaded into the storage areas and floor space.
All conversions are fitted with at least 4 forward facing travelling seats with seat belts (with additional seating available on some layouts).
The side walls, doors and roof are all thermally and acoustically insulated to keep the heat in and decrease travelling noise.
Thermal lined black out curtains are fitted to each window including the cab. These acts as additional insulation, they keep the sun out in the morning and are practical to use and keep clean.
The tough, hard wearing flooring we use enables it to be wiped clean no matter what its use and also has insulating properties. If you prefer a softer carpet finish then this is optional.
All conversions are well designed and practical to use, and are constantly developed as a result of customer and staff feedback. Standard features that can be found are swivelling cab seats, colour coded roof, heated rear windows and rear wash wipers, gas, water and electrical systems and our conversions are all approved by the National Caravan Council and SMMT, conforming to European code of habitation EN 1646.
Bilbo’s have been building on Volkswagens ever since registering as a company in 1977. The Type 1 started off as an everyday mode of transportation since the first one came off the Volkswagen production line in 1949.
Over the past 60 years now the Volkswagen Transporter has refined and defined and itself as solid, sleek and unbreakable being used by millions worldwide. With ever progressing German technology and build quality the transporter has become the original base for the ‘camper van’, post office van, ambulance, pick-up truck and everyday vehicle.
Based on the footprint of a car, this allows you to use it as a primary vehicle for every use, or add length and height but still be able to explore off the beaten track. The large sliding door enables easy access to the vehicle whether it is for the family to jump into or to create easy access for wheel chairs or large loads. The rear tailgate as well as giving clear access to the rear for loading will also act as shelter from the elements.
Serviceable worldwide, you can rest assured that should you need any assistance, you will be able to get it wherever you are.
It is for these very reasons that Bilbo’s have continued to base their top quality conversions on this vehicle and are now manufacturing conversions on the latest T5 model.
